SPRING 2025 TEAM
Sarah Baxter is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication and a minor in Digital Arts. This is her first semester with Pier601 and she can't wait to gain a real-world experience she can take with her after graduation. She is also an intern at Plan A Advertising where she helps with social media, graphic design, and administrative tasks. In her free time, she loves to hang out with her friends and go to the beach. She is looking forward to everything Pier601 has to offer!
Meribel Briggs is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication and minoring in Leadership Studies. She has experience in social media, digital design, project management, and event planning, with skills in Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud applications. She enjoys reading, going on long walks, and playing card games with friends. She is looking forward to working with Pier601 this semester!
Claire Bush is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) concentration. With a passion for media & design, she is excited to take on new projects as a Pier601 VP. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickle-ball, cleaning, and spending time with her roommates. She is looking forward to getting more experience working with both internal and external clientele!
Bella Cacciato is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication and minoring in psychology and digital arts. With experience in graphic design, content creation, social media management, and Adobe services, she is excited work with Pier601 for another semester! In her free time, Bella enjoys going to the beach, trying new coffee shops, reading, and spending time with friends.
Sadie Cameron is a junior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing and a minor in Leadership. This will be her first semester joining the Pier601 team, where she is excited to use her skills in event planning, content creation, and website design. She is eager to collaborate with her peers and develop innovative ideas. In her free time, Sadie enjoys attending workout classes, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to start this new chapter with Pier601 and contribute to the team!
Dawson Cox is a senior majoring in Communication Studies. This is his first semester in Pier601, where he hopes to apply his graphic design skills, gain client experience, and collaborate with the talented Pier601 team. In his free time, Dawson enjoys fishing, surfing, and playing soccer. His dream job upon graduation would be working for a sports marketing department and designing sports media graphics.
Sarah Dodrill is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication and a minor in English. As this is her first semester with the Pier601 team, she is excited to learn new skills and collaborate with her peers and clients. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with friends, going to the beach, and reading. Sarah wants to work for a marketing agency or within a company's marketing department upon graduating and is eager to bring her skills to the Pier 601 team.
Reilly Dunne is a senior double majoring in Film Studies and Communication Studies with a focus in Integrated Marketing Communication. She is thrilled about the opportunity to contribute to the Pier601 initiatives as this is her first semester being a member of the team. She is passionate about video marketing and creating content that is meaningful and engaging to promote businesses and the local community. Outside of her coursework, she stays busy with sewing and designing clothing from up-cycled materials, her internship at a local B2B company, freelance videography and photography projects, reading, and cooking.
Peyton Fields is a senior from Raleigh majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in IMC and a minor in Assistance Dog Training. She is currently the publicity chair for the Communication Studies Society and a member of the Lambda Pi Eta honors society. Peyton has experience in corporate communications, marketing, and social media. She is planning to utilize those skills in Pier601 as one of our VPs this semester! She loves to read, spend time outside, cook, and go to the beach.
Grace Kammerer is a senior majoring in Communication studies with a focus in Integrated Marketing Communications. This is her second semester working on the Pier601 team where she has practiced her skills in brand building and media creation. She is eager to continue Pier601's collaborative process and work directly with our clients. In her free time, Grace enjoys reading, writing, cooking, and staying active. She is excited to continue to put her IMC skills to use and be a part of the Pier 601 community.
Jamie Nitz is graduating this May with a Communication major, focusing in Integrated Marketing, and double minoring in Health and Yoga. This is her second semester with Pier601 Creative, hoping to broaden her skillset. Jamie would like to remain in Wilmington after she graduates, continuing her education in Yoga. On her free days, Jamie loves to crochet, take yoga classes, and visit coffee shops. She is looking forward to Pier601 providing her the experience to step foot into the professional realm and grow as an individual.
Alyssa Portanova is a senior Communications Major with a focus in IMC, she works part-time as a graphic designer for a local company in Wilmington, NC. She is also a marketing intern for K12 schools, where she writes blog posts, helps present business cases, and creates graphics for different online schools. In her free time, she loves art and any and all water sports, especially surfing and paddle boarding.
Tensli Powers is a junior majoring in Communication and Entrepreneurship Studies with a focus in Integrated Marketing Communications. She is so excited to start her first semester with Pier601 and have the opportunity to work alongside such creative individuals to leave a lasting impact on the Wilmington community. Tensli is an active member of Lambda Pi Eta, Com Studies Society, and is an intern for the local real estate company SaltyAirLiving. In her free time, she loves to go to the beach, travel, hang out with friends and family, yoga, and go on walks. This semester she hopes to learn from her peers as well as contributing her skills of photography, digital design, and content creation.
Gabi Raffe is senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication. This semester Gabi will serve as a VP, as this will be her second semester as a member of the Pier601 team. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2025 and hopes to pursue a career in advertising. Gabi has skills in content creation, graphic design, social media management, and event planning. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, volunteering and traveling. She is looking forward to building on her IMC skills and working with a new client this semester.
Ryan Sanzari is a senior majoring in Communication Studied with a focus in Graphic Design. This is her first semester in Pier601, where she hopes she'll use her skills in graphic design and illustration, along with learning new skills like client communication and project management. After graduation, she hopes to be able to work as a graphic designer where she can express herself creatively and professionally.
Katelyn Schrock is a senior from Maryland, majoring in Communication Studies with a focus on Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC). She is an active member of Lambda Pi Eta and serves as the President of the Women's Pickleball Club on campus. Katelyn has skills in managing social media, photography, and using Canva. In her free time, she enjoys walking the loop on sunny days and searching for seashells on the beach. She is excited for all Pier601 has to offer this semester!
Rachael Tydings is a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, majoring in Communication Studies. She is from Carteret County, NC where she has worked as a notary and paralegal for the law firm, Enecks & Enecks for nearly 3 years. She is a VP for Pier601 in addition to interning with WECT news. Upon graduation, she hopes to secure a position in a company where she can use her talent and expertise to make a positive impact.
McKenzie Williams is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication and minors in Digital Arts and Business. This is her first semester with Pier601, and she is so excited to learn new skills and work closely with such an amazing group of creatives. McKenzie wants to work for a creative marketing firm after graduation and hopes to stay in the Wilmington area, but would love to one day live in Seattle. In her free time, she loves watching 2000s rom-coms with her cat and participating on the university club cheer team. She is very excited about all the opportunities that will come from her experience at Pier601.
Olivia Yakabouski is a junior majoring in Communication Studies with a focus in Integrated Marketing Communication and minors in Leadership, Coastal and Environmental Writing, and a Professional Writing Certificate. She has previously interned for the Wilmington Fire Department as a communication and media intern. This is Olivia's first semester joining Pier601 and is excited to apply her skills in the realm of digital design, professional writing, and content creation. In her free time, she loves to go to the beach, try workout classes, and play beach volleyball. She looks forward to this new experience and collaborating with peers and clients.
